Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

At Paris Games Week, PlayStation caught up with one of its favorite employees — Troy Baker, aka Joel in The Last Of Us, with roles in Far Cry 4, BioShock Infinite, Batman: Arkham Knight, and most anything of significance over the past five years. Sony asked Baker to jump back into character across the full spectrum of his work and he obliged, but the fun really begins when he starts biting on others' material.

The money shot is at 1:26, when Baker does a virtuoso performance of another PlayStation exclusive character before rolling back into a more familiar role. "We are singlehandedly taking down every franchise I've ever touched," Baker says, after getting through a particularly torturous reimagining of Joel on a date.

Baker's latest work includes Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain (as Ocelot) and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, coming March 4. For more about Baker and his work, check out our in-depth feature on "gaming's most recognizable voice."
