Update: You can also order your unit from Amazon or directly from Samsung.

Gear VR is Samsung and Oculus' portable virtual reality platform that uses your smart phone for its screen and processing power. The hardware was released in an "Innovator Edition" last year for enthusiasts and developers, but the consumer version of the hardware can be preordered now through Best Buy, with a release date of Nov. 20.

The headset is compatible with Samsung's Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6 phones, and comes with a 16 GB microSD card with "3D movie trailers and 360° videos."

You can read our thoughts on the final version of the hardware, and we'll have a more in-depth look at the release once our own unit comes in.
