Vocaloid pop star Hatsune Miku hitting the road across North America

The future of music heads out on her first American tour

Hatsune Miku, the holographic pop star and occasional video game protagonist, is embarking upon her first North American headlining tour.

Miku Expo 2016, as it has been dubbed, will begin with a show in Seattle on April 23 and take the vocaloid across both the West and East Coasts.

Other cities that Miku will stop through include San Francisco, Dallas and Toronto. Tickets for each show are currently on sale, and a VIP package is available for diehards who want the exclusive tour merchandise and early venue entry.

Miku's final stop is New York on May 28, where she'll perform both afternoon and evening shows.

On her most recent visit to the Big Apple, the pop star performed for David Letterman on his Late Show. The talk show host's reaction was one of confusion, but fans of games like this year's Project Mirai DX on Nintendo 3DS and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, in which she made an appearance, seem to understand her appeal.
