PlayStation 4 Black Friday 2015 deals: best prices on console bundles and big games (update)

This holiday season is looking to be a big one for Sony. Although the PlayStation 4 recently received a price cut, that hasn't stopped the company from slashing prices further for its Black Friday sales, which generally begin on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26. We've got a round-up of the best deals for new PlayStation 4 owners, including those on consoles, games and PlayStation Plus memberships, too.

PlayStation 4 bundles

If you've finally decided to pick up a PS4, the best way to go isn't to get a console on its own, but to buy a bundle. Most retailers offer the exact same deal: the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection set for $299. You can pick this one up from Target, GameStop, Best Buy, Sam's Club, Walmart and Toys R Us.

Can't decide which store to go to? If you're willing to make the trek to the store on Thanksgiving Day, check out Meijer. While the supermarket chain will only offer the $299 bundle on Nov. 26, and not Black Friday, you'll get an extra $50 coupon for your trouble.

With the package typically going for $349, Black Friday is your time to grab the system for $50 off. A bunch of stores are offering this one up as a doorbuster, meaning you'll want to head to the store — or, in some cases, online — as soon as it opens.

Sam's Club also has a Star Wars Battlefront bundle on sale for $389, which comes with the upcoming game as well as a 500 GB PS4. The best deal on this one, though, is either Best Buy's or GameStop's. Both will have the limited edition set for just $349, and GameStop is throwing in a free gift with its bundle — a Star Wars Console Carrier backpack.

GameStop recently revealed that it will throw in a copy of Destiny: The Taken King's Legendary Edition with your purchase of a $429.99 1 TB Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 bundle.

The biggest games

A number of PlayStation 4 games will be discounted during the shopping season, including some of this year's most popular releases.

Several console exclusives are receiving major discounts this season. Bloodborne is just $20 at Best Buy and GameStop. Best Buy is offering Until Dawn, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD and Final Fantasy 14: Heavensward at that price point, too.

If you head to GameStop a little early — on Nov. 24 and 25 — you can pick up Transformers: Devastation for $29.99. They've got the PS4 Camera on sale at the $29.99 price during that period, too.

Tearaway Unfolded, the PS4 revamp of the PlayStation Vita title can be yours for just $20, too, thanks to Toys R Us.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be on sale for only $25 at Walmart.

If you want to try out Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, for whatever reason, it can be yours at Toys R Us for $30.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Destiny: The Taken King are all $35 at Walmart and Target.

If you're a Guitar Hero fan, Guitar Hero Live is $59.99 at Target. Target also has a limited edition Rock Band 4 band-in-a-box set for $199.

For popular games like Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront, don't expect a price cut — but Best Buy will compensate you with a PlayStation Plus membership for just $4.99.

Time to sign up for PS Plus

PlayStation Plus memberships will be discounted at numerous stores during Black Friday. Walmart has the best price for the standalone three-month subscription at just $10.

Controllers at a discount

If you want to pick up a second DualShock 4, you can grab one for $39.99 from the majority of retailers.

Update: We've added Best Buy's great deal on the Star Wars Battlefront bundle, as well as its console exclusives on sale for just $20. We've also called out Toys R Us' offer on Tearaway, another PS4 exclusive, as well as its discount on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5.
