Dragon Quest 7 and Dragon Quest 8 coming to 3DS in North America next year

Two fan-favorite Dragon Quest titles are being re-released in North America: Both Dragon Quest 7: Warriors of Eden and Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King are coming to Nintendo 3DS in 2016, Nintendo announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation today.

Dragon Quest 7 is scheduled to be released in summer 2016, while Dragon Quest 8 will be available sometime in 2016. The former game, which was developed by Heartbeat and ArtePiazza, debuted in Japan on the original PlayStation in August 2000; it was released in North America in October 2001. Its follow-up was developed by Level-5; that game launched in Japan on PlayStation 2 in November 2004, and publisher Square Enix brought it to North America a year later.

Square Enix has re-released both games on Android and iOS in North America, but the 3DS versions have only been available in Japan so far.
