Hyrule Warriors Legends for 3DS will include a new female Link, called Linkle

The Nintendo 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors will feature an all-new Nintendo character, Linkle, a female version of Link that will wield a pair of crossbows. Nintendo unveiled the original character during its Nintendo Direct presentation today.

Nintendo described Linkle as a girl who lives in a small village filled with cuccos — the Zelda equivalent of a chicken — and dual-wields a pair of crossbows. She's got a powerful spin kick move and is described as "energetic."

This isn't our first look at Linkle: She first appeared in concept art form in the Hyrule Warriors artbook released last year.

Linkle will be joined by new playable characters Tetra, Toon Link and the King of Hyrule from The Wind Waker when Hyrule Warriors Legends hits Nintendo 3DS on March 25, 2016.
