Resident Evil Revelations 2's first episode is free, go play it now

Resident Evil Revelations 2, Capcom's episodic take on the horror franchise, may be most familiar to you as the star of Polygon's very first Let's Play. But in case you have wanted to try the game yourself but have yet to get around to it, good news: The first episode of the series is available for free download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Store (for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3) today.

First launching its four-episode-arc in March, after which it received an August PlayStation Vita release, the series is available in a Deluxe Edition set today. The free download serves as a teaser for the package which collects the full season and adds in extra context, like additional episodes.

In our review of the game, we referred to Revelations 2 as having "a strange sort of confidence in what it's trying to do that the [Resident Evil] series has needed for some time now."
