Adam Driver doesn't think Kylo Ren, the villain of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is a bad guy.
This may constitute a spoiler warning, so consider yourself warned from this point forward.
Speaking to Empire about the role, Driver said that he views the character as someone who grew up in a cult setting, never questioning the orders he was given.
"When they think their actions are morally justified, it makes them dangerous and unpredictable," Driver said. "There's no level they won't go to accomplish what they're after."
Driver added that he never thought the character was "an evil person," which is an interesting insight into the psyche he'll bring to portraying Kylo Ren.
Empire also revealed an exclusive new look at the character, which can be seen in the photo above.
Kylo Ren is still one of the more mysterious figures in the seventh film, with not much information available about his journey in comparison to Finn and Rey's. J.J. Abrams has said previously, however, that he's far more menacing than Darth Vader ever was in the original films.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in less than one month, on Dec. 18.
