Halo 5: Guardians' multiplayer saw its first full update yesterday with the release of "Battle of Shadow and Light," which added, among other things, Big Team Battle — a long-running Halo multiplayer playlist that was notably missing from Halo 5's launch lineup. In terms of player count, the mode is the largest available in Halo 5's Arena mode, with eight players on each side, heightened score ceilings, and a large focus on vehicles.

Also included in the update are four new maps, all created in Halo 5's yet-to-be-released Forge mode: "Basin," a reimagining of the original Halo: Combat Evolved s Blood Gulch; "Guillotine," a remake of Halo 2's Headlong; a rebuilt version of Halo 3's "Standoff," and "Recurve," a reimagining of Halo 4's Longbow. Above, watch us play through one full round of Big Team Strongholds on Basin, engaging in some vehicular hijinks along the way.

Halo 5's "Battle of Shadow and Light" update is available now as a 6 GB patch.
