Serial heading to Pandora for first time (correction)

Fans of the popular podcast Serial will be able to get their fix on an entirely new platform this upcoming season, as well as through traditional venues like iTunes.

The second season of the popular podcast, hosted by Sarah Koenig, will also be available on Pandora for the first time.

"Pandora is all about discovery and that gives us a great opportunity," Tim Westergen, founder of Pandora, said in a statement on the streaming service's site. "Not only to offer each of you a great new experience, but to help Serial expand its audience."

Westergen said he couldn't reveal too many details about the project — including when the new season would premiere — but did announce that the entire first season would be available to stream as of Nov. 24.

Serial's first season saw Koenig dig into the 1999 murder of Baltimore high school student Hae Min Lee. It was the first podcast to hit the 5 million download mark on iTunes and remains one of the most listened-to podcasts in Apple's history.

The show's first season is available to download on iTunes right now.

Correction: Contrary to Pandora's official statement, Serial will still be available on iTunes and the show's official site. We've corrected our story to reflect this information.
