The Evolution Championship Series, better known as Evo, will return to Las Vegas, Nevada next year, the fighting game tournament's organizers have confirmed. Next year's contest will run from July 15-17, 2016.
Details on Evo 2016, including where it will be held and what fighting games will be featured, haven't been announced.
This year's tournament was held at Bally's / Paris Las Vegas Casino and Hotel and featured nine games as part of the main competition: Ultra Street Fighter 4, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat X, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Tekken 7.
Evo 2016 is likely to feature a handful of new fighting games. Street Fighter 5 is slated to hit PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in February, giving players plenty of time to brush up on Capcom's latest. The console versions of Tekken 7 may also be out in advance of Evo 2016.
