New Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot highlights Finn's fighting abilities

A new Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot has arrived, and much like the ones before it, is full of new footage.

Although none of it is necessarily spoiler-heavy, for those trying to avoid any new details before the movie is released, consider this your warning.

The new spot provides an extended look at Finn and his lightsaber-wielding abilities as he takes on a stormtrooper in the middle of an intense battle. We know Finn used to be a stormtrooper before turning his back on the First Order and learning the truth of what really happened in the past. Taking on the army that he grew up with is sure to be an intense moment for him, and this trailer hints at that.

We also get to see what appears to be a new weapon wielded by the stormtroopers, as one of them goes head-to-head with Finn.

One of the coolest reveals in the trailer, though, is that female fighter pilots are finally canon in the movies, as seen through a conversation between Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and an unknown pilot. While they've been prominent in extended universe arcs, it's the first time the films will have a woman pilot front and center.

With less than a month until the movie is out, there are sure to be a few more TV spots with new footage in the next couple of weeks.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters Dec. 18.
