Right before the a capella group Pentatonix took the stage at the American Music Awards last night to perform a special rendition of John Williams' famous Star Wars score, an extended clip from The Force Awakens was shown to audiences.
In the extended clip, which is a longer take on a scene people have seen multiple times in past trailers, Rey and Finn are running toward a quad jumper that they can hop into and escape after the First Order opens fire on the planet they're situated on.
As they're running, Finn — who is visibly far less cool under pressure than Rey — asks in a panicky voice who's going to fly the vehicle.
When Rey says she will, he freaks out a tiny bit, but none of that matters when the jumper is hit by gunfire from a TIE Fighter and explodes.
Although there wasn't any new information in the scene, it's the first real look at John Boyega and Daisy Ridley acting together, which fans haven't been able to really see in the preceding trailers and television spots.
Speaking of television spots, Lucasfilm and Disney aired yet another one last night.
The footage is mostly the same, but there's finally a bit of emphasis on the First Order and the giant army that Kylo Ren controls.
You can catch the new TV spot below, but for those waiting until the new Star Wars movie comes out before watching anything new, don't worry; there's officially only 25 days left until the film is released.
The Force Awakens hits theaters Dec. 18.
