Marvel's Jessica Jones recently premiered on Netflix to stellar reviews from critics and a buzz of conversation online. Now that people have started watching the series, some choosing to binge all 13 episodes over the weekend, people want to know if the show's getting a second season.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg said that she wasn't sure if the show was getting a second season at this point, but if it does, it probably wouldn't be before The Defenders was released.
The Defenders, Marvel and Netflix's big team-up between Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Punisher, doesn't sound like it's anywhere near close to entering production, though. Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter, has yet to premiere on the service and Marvel has encountered a series of problems with Iron Fist, including the actual casting of the character.
Still, Rosenberg seemed adamant that if the second season were to happen, it wouldn't be anytime soon, and said she wasn't even sure if there was time to get it done.
"There are logistics involved, because Defenders has to shoot by a certain time, contractually," she said.
Still, it sounds like there may be plans to eventually give the titular character a second season. After all, it only took 12 days after Daredevil premiered for Netflix to order a second season.
