The Fencer from Nidhogg is now part of the Divekick roster

Michael McWhertor is a journalist with more than 17 years of experience covering video games, technology, movies, TV, and entertainment.

The Fencer, the pixelated swordsman from Messhoff's Nidhogg, is now part of two-button fighting game parody Divekick, thanks to a free update from developer Iron Galaxy that rolled out today.

Nidhogg's Fencer joins the likes of Johnny Gat from Saints Row, as well as characters based on prominent real-world fighting game community members Seth Killian, Alex Jebailey and Mark "Markman" Julio.

Iron Galaxy calls the update to Divekick Addition Edition+ — which is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Windows PC and Xbox One — the final update to the game. Today's news also comes with a permanent price drop; Divekick has been slashed to $4.99, 50 percent off the game's previous price.

You can see The Fencer in action in Divekick in a new trailer above.
