Mewtwo's new form gets official name and featured spot in Pokkén Tournament trailer

Over the weekend, players of Japanese arcade game Pokkén Tournament uploaded footage of a never-before-seen mega evolution for legendary Pokémon Mewtwo. The Pokémon Company has now confirmed that the new monster is indeed a new form, called Shadow Mewtwo, with the new teaser above.

This differs from the names fans originally gave the new evolution, Dark Mewtwo. The legendary makes its appearance in the trailer above, albeit it a far briefer one than the full match shared previously.

Pokkén Tournament is currently playable in Japanese arcades, as well as the Times Square location of Dave & Buster's in New York, which we went hands-on with last month. It will be heading to Wii U worldwide in 2016.
