Destiny's next update will ease your weapon parts troubles

Destiny is getting an update this month that will, among other things, relieve the Great Weapon Parts Shortage of 2015, developer Bungie announced today.

Last month, Destiny update 2.0.1 reduced the amount of weapon parts that players received from dismantling certain guns. That change left many Guardians with a severe lack of weapon parts, a resource that's necessary to upgrade weapons. Bungie has heard your pleas: As of Destiny's 2.0.2 update, you'll be able to simply buy weapon parts from Banshee-44, the Gunsmith in the Tower, for plain ol' Glimmer.

The 2.0.2 update is scheduled to be released this month, before Thanksgiving, and it will also include some previously announced tweaks to Crucible bounties and quests. In short, the changes will reduce the difficulty and time investment required for some of Destiny's more arduous PvP tasks.

Bungie also provided some vague outlines of its plans for Destiny's December update today. That patch will introduce a new use for Etheric Light, an upgrade resource that debuted in House of Wolves and was essentially rendered obsolete by Destiny's 2.0 update and The Taken King. The December update will also give players something to do with their surplus Wormspore, the natural resource found on the Dreadnaught.

In the meantime, Destiny players still have a few days left to finish collecting all the masks from the Festival of the Lost, the game's new Halloween event. The Festival of the Lost will end next Monday, Nov. 9. After that, you'll no longer be able to buy Destiny's three Halloween-themed emotes, and all the non-permanent masks and consumables associated with the event will disappear from your inventory.
