Correction: According to new information out of The Hollywood Reporter, Mariah Carey is not in talks to play Commissioner Gordon after all. Instead, she may be playing Gotham's newest mayor.
Original story: With Lego Batman gearing up to enter pre-production, final cast members are signing onto the film. While there have been some surprising choices thus far, none are as unpredictable as the possibility of pop queen Mariah Carey taking on the role of Commissioner Gordon.
According to Deadline, Carey is in final negotiations for the part, but added that the studio is trying its best to keep the information under wraps until contracts have been signed.
If Carey does join the movie, she'll star alongside Will Arnett (reprising his role as Batman from the original Lego Movie), Michael Cera (Robin), Ralph Fiennes (Alfred), Zach Galifianakis (Joker) and Rosario Dawson (Batgirl).
Lego Batman is scheduled to be released on Feb. 10, 2017.
