Dark Souls 3 might be getting a pair of collector's editions, according to retailer listings for next year's action role-playing game, one of which runs nearly $500.
According to Geekay Games, a video game retailer based in the United Arab Emirates, publisher Bandai Namco is soliciting Collector Edition and Prestige Edition versions of Dark Souls 3. Both versions come with a figurine based on the game, a cloth map, collector's edition packaging and other trinkets. The difference between the two seems to be in the editions' packaging and the size of the figures — the one with a 16-inch Lord of Cinder figurine is listed at 1,799 UAE dirham, about $489 in the U.S. The other comes in at just 499 UAE dirham, about $136.
Bandai Namco hasn't officially announced these special edition versions of the game, but they pretty closely match what the company offered fans for Dark Souls 2 last year. We've reached out to Bandai Namco for confirmation.
The listings also put a more specific date on Dark Souls 3: April 12, 2016. Officially, Bandai Namco has committed to March 24 in Japan and sometime during the month of April elsewhere.
