The first official trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, the sequel to last year's reinvention of the popular children's show, has arrived.
Returning to New York City to defend the city from crime, Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo and Michael Angelo join forces once again with reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) to take down the latest threat.
In the new movie, those foes go by the name Rocksteady and Bebop, two lackeys for Shredder. In the original 1987 comic, the two were sent by Shredder to stop O'Neil from reporting on them, but were chased into the sewers by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and suffered a humiliating defeat.
Although the trailer doesn't stress just how closely the film will follow the events of the series, we can at least be certain that these will be two of the main adversaries the family of mutated turtles will have to take on.
Also making an appearance in the trailer is Stephen Amell (Arrow), who plays Casey Jones, the spirited vigilante from the original series. Originally created as a parody of the vigilante stereotype in comic books, Jones became a series regular and a love interest for O'Neil.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 hits theaters June 3, 2016.
