Oculus Rift pre-orders come with Eve: Valkyrie for free

The VR device launches with its killer app

Oculus is teaming up with developer CCP Games to give all customers who pre-order its upcoming VR platform a copy of Eve: Valkyrie at launch, the company announced today in a press release.

Oculus Rift is set to hit retail in the first quarter of 2016, with Eve: Valkyrie joining fellow space adventure Adrift among its confirmed launch titles. The sci-fi shooter sticks you in the cockpit of a spaceship and lets you take on enemies in both single- and multiplayer.

Eve: Valkyrie will also arrive on Sony's virtual reality device, PlayStation VR, which is planned to launch sometime next year. We went hands-on with the game – one of our most anticipated virtual reality titles – in March at Fanfest 2015 in Iceland.

Check out our footage of the game in action below.
