With just seven days until Star Wars: The Force Awakens is finally in theaters, coverage of the film has increased, including from sports network ESPN, which will air a documentary on the history and evolution of the lightsaber. You can watch the trailer above
The documentary will explore the traditional fighting techniques that went into developing the styles for all of the lightsaber battles, as well as looking at the technology behind them.
Focusing on all seven movies, the special will have plenty of behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen interviews about the evolution of the franchise's most symbolic weapon.
The documentary will air on ESPN Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. ET, three days before the movie hits theaters.
