Before the UFC bought it out last decade, the Japan-based Pride Fighting Championship was one of its biggest competitors, and Lenne Hardt was its signature voice. Also known as "Crazy Pride Lady," she fired up the crowd with over-the-top, roaring introductions of the fighters. This weekend she brought all of that flair to The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 finals for Tekken 7.
Hardt has also done voice acting for the Tekken series (and portrayed herself in 2011's EA Sports MMA, which featured Pride-style bout rules). If you're not familiar with what the fuss is here, just watch the chat window when the stream's viewers realize who is doing the intros for the top 8 competitors.
At 1:15, I totally lose it when Hardt introduces Ao. I've never heard two letters create such a long name. And the chat just flips the hell out. There's an interlude while New Japan Pro wrestling announcer Hidekazu Tanaka sets the stage for the big final match, but Hardt is back on the scene at 3:18 to bring in the evening's final two contestants, and man does she seem to be having fun with it.
The King of Iron First Tournament 2015 Grand Final pit 27 players versus one another in Tekken 7, awarding a prize pool of more than $80,000. Nobi prevailed as tournament champion, with Knee and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (sorry) as runners up. Shoryuken has full results and a match log.
