Watch the official trailer for Star Trek Beyond

Update: Paramount Pictures released the official trailer for the movie following the leaked version. Our original post follows.

The trailer for Star Trek Beyond, the third in the franchise, has been leaked online. Or rather, a German edition of the trailer has.

The trailer starts off with the Beastie Boys' classic "Sabotage," a throwback to the first film when a young James Tiberius Kirk was riding through the desert, trying to escape various law enforcement personnel. It then pans to each crew member on the USS Enterprise as they fly through a series of asteroids surrounding their ship.

Considering it's in German, it's unclear exactly what they're saying, but the visuals are strong enough for the trailer to still be pretty understandable.

The trailer accentuates quite a bit of new material, including new species the Enterprise crew will come into contact with, new uniforms, and new tender moments between Spock and Kirk that will have us all remembering what true friendship really means.

The official trailer is reportedly attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, premiering this Thursday, although Paramount may decide to release it sooner now that it's been leaked.

Star Trek Beyond, which is the first in the franchise not directed by J.J. Abrams, hits theaters July 22, 2016.
