First Marvel did it with The Avengers, then Universal decided to do it with Dracula and the Mummy. Now, Paramount and Hasbro are teaming up to create a new movie universe that will see characters from the G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K. and ROM brands all cross over at some point in the future.
Hasbro and Paramount teaming up for G.I. Joe crossover universe

According to The Hollywood Reporter, development strategies are underway to start building the universe and stretch it into a multi-year event, with writers and executives brought on board to outline what the universe could look like.
While this is going on, Hasbro and Paramount are still trying to expand their successful Transformers franchise, which has grossed more than $3.8 billion over four movies.
There’s currently no estimate as to when the crossovers will get underway, but with two G.I. Joe movies already completed, pre-production for the new properties could start relatively soon.
