New X-Files promo asks fans to question everything

Fox's new X-Files series is just months away from premiering.

To amp up as much excitement for the show as possible, the network has released a couple of new promos over the past couple of days, including this most recent one that asks viewers to question everything they know.

In the promo, a group of people can be heard talking about a flashing bright light in the sky as they videotape what's going on. It's a throwback to one of the most classic X-Files themes — UFO's and aliens — on top of a natural distrust for the government.

Toward the end of the video, Mulder (David Duchovny) can be heard saying "We must ask ourselves, 'Are we truly alone or are we being lied to?'" Duchovny is returning to the six-episode series alongside Gillian Anderson, who will be reprising her role as Dana Scully.

The X-Files premieres Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on Fox.
