Verizon customers looking for an excuse to try out virtual reality can head to a select number of retail locations to pick up a free Star Wars-themed Google Cardboard viewer today.
You can head to the official page to find a store in your area for your free viewer, but be advised that these are only being offered to Verizon customers. There are four designs, based on BB-8, R2-D2, Kylo Ren and the Stormtrooper, although each model is functionally the same.
Verizon sent us one of each to try out, and outside of the admittedly cool Star Wars branding there's not much here to differentiate these from past Cardboard viewers, although they'll work best on smaller, non-phablet sized phones.
The main draw of the Cardboard platform is that it's compatible with both Android and iOS devices, and the viewers are inexpensive; this promotion is a neat way to peek into the future while snagging a fun Star Wars collectible.
