Even before episodic adventure series Life is Strange debuted, developer Dontnod Entertainment announced its next project: British vampire role-playing game Vampyr.
Information about the game beyond its name and most basic logline remained scant following the reveal, but in a post to the European PlayStation Blog, its director Philippe Moreau shares more details about what to expect, as well as new concept art.
The action role-playing title stars Jonathan Reid, a surgeon during the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic in London, who takes on both fantastical and human antagonists using his vampiric powers and weapons, like saws and surgical tools.
Like Dontnod's other choice-driven games, your actions will have major consequences throughout the game. With the option to target nearly anyone, including the city's civilians, you'll find that your choice of enemy will take effect on the story.
"The information you gather, the things that you see, and the relationships [you] nurture will all define your decisions," Moreau writes. "But you will have to feed. You cannot escape that you are a vampire."
Moreau concludes that more details on Vampyr are forthcoming. For now, you can check out the game's concept teaser from June below.
