The final issue of downloadable content for Batman: Arkham Knight will arrive on Tuesday, Dec. 22, developer Rocksteady Studios announced. It brings back four familiar supervillains and a couple of alternate skins for Batman and his ride.
The new "Most Wanted" missions under the Season of Infamy series pit Batman against Killer Croc, Mister Freeze, Mad Hatter and Ra's Al Ghul. Batman also gets a costume based on Christian Bale's from 2008's The Dark Knight, and the Batmobile design used in the original Batman: Arkham Asylum also returns. The Dark Knight suit was added to the game after large numbers of fans requested it.
For those who bought Arkham Knight's "season pass," this DLC is included. It's the last batch rolling out under that program.
The DLC ends Rocksteady's run with the Batman: Arkham series it originated in 2009. Studio head Sefton Hill talks about what that means at 8:35 of the following video. (The rest of the video also shows the new DLC in action).
Yet the bigger question, whether this means no more Batman from Rocksteady, ever, is left unanswered. Rocksteady made three of the four Batman: Arkham games on consoles — Asylum, City and Knight. Warner Bros. Games Montreal handled the other, 2013's Batman: Arkham Origins.
Though its problems on PC are very well known, Batman: Arkham Knight's PlayStation 4 edition scored a perfect 10 from Polygon when it launched back in June.
