Nintendo has shared which of its 2015 games the Miiverse fan community enjoyed the most this year. In a series of posts to the "Fan Faves" board on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U's social platform, the company named the top three games for each console as voted upon by Miiverse users.
For Wii U, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker and Xenoblade Chronicles X were the three most popular games. Splatoon notably incorporates messages from Miiverse in-game, which might have helped it land the number one spot.
Xenoblade Chronicles X, which we reviewed at launch, only arrived stateside earlier this month, which makes its inclusion in the top three fairly impressive.
On the 3DS side, gamers voted for the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate as their top three favorite 2015 games.
Going through the community's thread reveals that fans voted for their favorites by hashtag and were asked to elaborate on why they were choosing each game as their favorite. Voting opened earlier this month as part of one of Nintendo's regular Miiverse sweepstakes, which has since ended with the announcement of the winning games.
Just like Miiverse users, we were fans of Splatoon this year, too. Check out our review of the Wii U multiplayer game and watch our gameplay overview below to see it all its stylish glory.
