Mads Mikkelsen has officially been revealed as the main villain in Marvel's Doctor Strange, but it'll be a little while longer until his character's name is announced.
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, told Entertainment Weekly that Mikkelsen — who many know as the cannibal Hannibal Lecter in NBC's beloved series, Hannibal — plays a turncoat sorcerer. According to Feige, Mikkelsen's sorcerer becomes upset with Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange and Tilda Swinton's Ancient One, and decides to take matters into his own hands.
When pressed for the character's name, executive producer Stephen Broussard said that while he's seen a few names suggested, they want to keep the name a secret until closer to the movie's release date.
The first official photo of Benedict Cumberatch as the titular sorcerer was also revealed today by the magazine.
Doctor Strange, which co-stars Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor, hits theaters Nov. 4, 2016.
