Orphan Black, BBC America's popular sci-fi drama, will enter its fourth season in April, and with it comes the expansion of its clone cast.
Currently, there are 10 known members of the central "Clone Club" trying to make sense of their lives as cut copies of each other. Yet next season, as revealed by the co-creators to Entertainment Weekly, will see an eleventh character added to the mix. Known only as MK, she'll stand as a real mystery to head clone Sarah and her cohort.
"She's purposefully avoided contact with the sisters to keep herself safe," John Fawcett told the publication, "and Sarah is now trying to draw her out of the shadows and trying to utilize the information that she has so that Sarah can follow her own mystery and fill in the blanks and protect Alison and protect Cosima from Neolution."
To further complicate the already complex narrative, MK will be both a boon and a burden to Sarah's quest for answers, according to the creators. While she'll have key information about the hunt for the clones, whether or not she's willing to offer that up remains to be seen.
One last thing: Although her face will be obscured by an unnerving sheep mask, one thing is for sure — series lead Tatiana Maslany will portray her, as she does the other 10 clones.
