Double Fine Productions' remastered version of the classic LucasArts adventure game Grim Fandango leads the list of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers next month, Sony announced today.

Grim Fandango Remastered is the only cross-buy title of the six free games; it will be available free on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The other PS4 game for January is Hardware: Rivals, which was developed by SCE Connected Content Group, a new internal studio at Sony Computer Entertainment. Hardware: Rivals is a follow-up to 2002's Hardware: Online Arena, which was one of the first online experiences available on PlayStation 2.

PlayStation 3 owners will get two Electronic Arts titles: the beloved BioWare role-playing game Dragon Age: Origins and the less warmly received first-person shooter Medal of Honor Warfighter. In addition to Grim Fandango Remastered, PlayStation Vita owners will be able to download Legends of War: Patton, a turn-based strategy title from Enigma Software Productions, and Nihilumbra, a puzzle-platformer from BeautiFun Games.

All six games will be available free starting Jan. 5. For more, check out the PS4 games in action in the video above.
