Shane Black's newest movie, surprisingly, doesn't take place during Christmas.
Based on the first trailer for Black's newest film, The Nice Guys, the film will still have the director's signature buddy-comedy dynamic that his prior movies boasted, though.
Starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, the movie follows a private eye (Gosling) in 1970s Los Angeles as he and his enforcer partner (Crowe) dig into the apparent suicide of a porn star and uncover a conspiracy that takes them down a different road.
Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) also helped co-write the script on top of helming the film.
The Nice Guys hits theaters on Ma 20, 2016.
