Ace Combat 7 in development, is 'exclusive to PlayStation VR'

After 20 years on consoles, Namco's dogfighting game goes to virtual reality

The latest installment in the Ace Combat franchise — Ace Combat 7 — is in development, Namco Bandai announced today at PlayStation Experience. Sony's Adam Boyes said the game is "exclusive to PlayStation VR."

A news release from the publisher mentioned that Ace Combat 7 would support Sony's new virtual reality device.

No launch date or window was given. The only platform Bandai Namco mentioned for the game was PlayStation 4. The last entry in the 23-year-old dogfighting series was the PlayStation 3-only Ace Combat Infinity in 2014.
