Baseball's MVP Josh Donaldson stars on the cover of MLB The Show 16 (correction)

Toronto's star comes to U.S. shelves March 29

The next edition of PlayStation's award-winning MLB The Show series features the freshly minted American League MVP, Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays, on the cover.

MLB The Show 16 launches March 29 to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. A PlayStation Vita edition was not mentioned in the game's hype trailer. If so, this would be the first year the MLB The Show franchise did not have a handheld release since it began publishing under that name in 2006.

In late October, a senior Sony executive said the company had no first-party titles in development for that platform.

Donaldson led the American League in runs batted in and runs scored as the Blue Jays made their first postseason appearance since 1993, falling in the American League Championship Series to eventual world champion Kansas City.

Correction: The series has changed its naming convention. It is now known as MLB The Show 16, moving the year number to the end of the title. A previous version of this story had used the old naming order.
