Extreme Star Wars endurance marathon will finally name ultimate fan

The Alamo Drafthouse is finally ready to declare the king or queen Star Wars fan.

The famous movie theater will give seven people a chance to prove their dedication to the sci-fi franchise by holding an endurance contest at their flagship theater in Austin, Texas.

According to the site, the seven lucky winners will start the marathon at 4 a.m. on Dec. 17 with the original Star Wars film from 1977. They'll then watch both the original and prequel trilogies before finally watching The Force Awakens. Once The Force Awakens is screened, it'll play on a continuous loop until there's only one person left standing (or sitting while conscious, rather). That person will then be declared the official ultimate Star Wars fan.

In order to compete in the competition, there are some strict rules and guidelines that must be adhered to. Only certain states are eligible for qualification and all applicants must be at least 21 years old. If you meet these qualifications, you still need to post a photo on Instagram explaining why you're the biggest Star Wars fan and why you deserve to be in the competition. All entries must be uploaded to Instagram by 11:59 p.m. CT on Dec. 10 and have to incorporate the "#alamojedi" hashtag. Users have to tag the Alamo Drafthouse, @drafthouse, on the post and which city the applicant is from, too.

Of course, for those who just want to watch The Force Awakens and not have to worry about sitting through 12 hours of other movies to do so, tickets are still available on most major theater chain websites.

The film opens next week on Dec. 18.
