Using some kind of algorithm that the geniuses at Facebook came up with, the most talked about movies of 2015 have officially been announced.
These movies, as listed below, don't necessarily correlate to top box office sales, but rather are based on how much people posted about the various films, including sharing articles to their newsfeed.
Unsurprisingly, Star Wars: The Force Awakens took the top spot, but was followed closely by Furious 7 and Jurassic World.
Although Facebook didn't say just how it calculated the information, considering the reach of Vin Diesel's personal account and the massive fan account created for Chris Pratt, it's not overly surprising to see their individual films included in the top three. Avengers: Age of Ultron came in fourth while Bradley Cooper's controversial American Sniper took the fifth spot.
Perhaps most surprising is Mad Max: Fury Road, a film that dominated both at the box office and in conversation, came in eighth, behind Straight Outta Compton and Fifty Shades of Grey. Despite it not even making it into the top five on Facebook's list, Fury Road has already been awarded a few awards this year, including the award for Best Film by the National Board of Review.
Rounding out the bottom of the list are Magic Mike XXL, which came in ninth, and Pitch Perfect 2.
