It took 21 years and a social media revolution, but Doom players can finally take selfies in the groundbreaking first-person shooter.
The colorful, vanity-laden changes arrive thanks to the InstaDoom mod, which also lets installers recolor the game with Instagram-like filters.
"That's right," the mod’s description reads, "now you can play Doom with any one of no less than 37 real Instagram filters, all painstakingly recreated in the Doom engine! Memento Mori with Mayfair! Requiem with Rise! Icarus with Inkwell! Alien Vendetta with Aden or Valencia!"
More than two decades after its release, id Software’s Doom remains popular. A recent episode of MythBusters took a look at first-person shooters using franchise games as the backdrop. For more insights, be sure to watch developer John Romero playing Doom.
