Darksiders 2 will get a remastered version for the new generation of consoles, according to a report that the series' new publisher, Nordic Games, has confirmed.
GameSpot this morning reported Amazon's brief listing, and instant de-listing, of a PlayStation 4 edition of Darksiders 2. Nordic Games then confirmed the authenticity of the listing but declined to comment further on the product, including what other platforms, if any, it will launch on, or a launch date.
Darksiders 2 was published in 2012 by THQ for PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360, with another version added for the Wii U's launch. THQ went bankrupt later that year, however, and in January 2013 its assets were sold off to pay its debts. In April 2013, Nordic Games spent $4.9 million to acquire Darksiders (plus the Red Faction and MX series).
In May, the series' former creative director said the series "is not dead," and that Nordic games "seems very committed to continuing the series."
