World of Warcraft’s next patch, 6.1, will bring a new heirloom system, racing and a selfie camera to Blizzard Entertainment’s decade-old game Feb. 24, according to a Battle.net post this week.
Beginning with patch 6.1, heirloom items will join the new system and, depending on their current level, be upgraded to the maximum level with three groups: 1-60, 61-90 and 91-100. If players have enough gold, they can use the new heirloom management system to purchase all heirlooms that were sold for honor or justice points before Warlords of Draenor. Once purchased, all of a player’s Battle.net characters will have access to them.
Patch 6.1 will also update the character models for Blood Elves and include fixes for previously upgraded races. Lighting and anti-aliasing will also see improvements, and a new World of Warcraft screenshot feature will let players capture, crop and tweet images from within the game.
The previously announced S.E.L.F.I.E. camera, with Instagram-like features, will also arrive with the patch. On the accessibility side, a new user interface option is designed to assist colorblind players.
