Here's another look at the Pokémon fighting game, Pokkén Tournament

Michael McWhertor is a journalist with more than 17 years of experience covering video games, technology, movies, TV, and entertainment.

For a closer, 60 frames-per-second look at Pokkén Tournament, Bandai Namco's fighting game based on the Pokémon series, watch the above trailer that debuted at JAEPO 2015, the Japan Amusement Expo.

You won't see any newly confirmed characters. The Japanese-language trailer focuses on confirmed pocket monsters Pikachu, Gardevoir, Suicune, Lucario and Machamp. You'll also get a look at the existing assist characters: Emolga, Fenniken, Lapras and Snivy.

The newly released video is just a great way to see Pokkén Tournament in crystal clear action and maybe glean some details on its fighting systems and unusual arcade gamepad controller.

Pokkén Tournament was announced last summer. Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada is overseeing the game, which doesn't play much like Tekken. The game is confirmed for an arcade release in Japan, but Bandai Namco hasn't announced plans to bring it to other platforms or regions yet.
