Here's a very long look at Final Fantasy 15's demo, Episode Duscae

Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata recently showed off more than 40 minutes of the game's upcoming demo, Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae, during a streamed event from publisher Square Enix. In addition to offering an extended look at the Final Fantasy 15 demo, Tabata provided new details and answered a few questions about the role-playing game.

In the video (which has some audiovisual technical issues), we see Noctis and crew in battle against a variety of enemies, from aggressive wildlife to goblins to mechanized soldiers. According to a translation of Tabata's comments, the characters are currently engaged in a quest to get enough money to get their car out of the repair shop, and one of the bigger monsters players encounter in Episode Duscae will reward them with a big payout.

Tabata says that the map featured in the demo is much smaller than what players will experience in the final release. Expect an area to explore that's 10 to 20 times larger, he said. Episode Duscae will have an ending and, after players reach it, the demo will unlock some new goals and collectibles for players to find. Players' progress in the demo won't carry over into the main game.

As for the main game, Final Fantasy 15 is still only about 60 percent complete, Tabata says. That completion percentage may jump up to 80 percent quickly, he said, once a few things come together.

Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae is included with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 17.
