Imagine Iron Man as a Japanese role-playing game-inspired ninja. Got it? Well, soon you can buy it, thanks to a partnership between Final Fantasy developer Square Enix and Marvel Comics.
Square Enix’s Variant Play Arts Kai Iron Man is recognizable as billionaire genius Tony Stark’s creation, with a stealthy flair.
"The armor’s detailed articulation highlights several special effect pieces such as the palm repulsor rays, boot jet emissions, micro-missiles projecting from the thighs, back flaps and expandable air brakes on the legs," Marvel’s Alex Lopez wrote announcing the collectible. "These additions give all you Iron Man fans the ability to structure the collectible in various actions poses such as the high flying stance or the iconic fist-to-the-ground landing position. The battle-worn paint gives off a realistic feel to assure collectors that this Iron Man can go a few rounds with the best of them."
Variant Play Arts Kai Iron Man doesn’t have a release date, but it's available for pre-order in comics shops.
This isn’t the first time Square Enix has dabbled in superhero creation. Last year, Final Fantasy designer Tetsuya Nomura gave Batman a new look and then did the same for Catwoman.
