Award-winning comic Sex Criminals is being adapted into a TV show

Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky's award-winning comic book series, Sex Criminals, is being adapted into a TV show, Deadline reports.

Fraction and comic book writer Kelly Sue DeConnick — Fraction's wife — signed a two-year deal at Universal TV. The TV adaptation of Sex Criminals is one of their first projects; the pair is expected to adapt other comic books and original series concepts as well.

"We're always excited to usher in fresh voices to the television space, and we couldn't be more thrilled to partner with Matt and Kelly Sue, a fantastic pair whose award-winning comics are as deeply realized as they are entertaining," said Universal TV executive vice president Bela Bajaria in a statement.

Sex Criminals follows a librarian named Suzie and an actor named Jon who discover that they both have the power to stop time when they orgasm. Naturally, the two use their abilities to start robbing banks. The series is published by Image Comics.
