Long-running free-to-play mobile RPG Puzzle & Dragons is getting a microtransaction-free 3DS edition this May in the form of Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, a hilariously titled two-pack including both the million-selling Puzzle & Dragon Z and the all new Mario-themed installment, both developed by the mobile game's creator GungHo Online Entertainment.
Recently, Polygon got to spend some hands-on time with the Mario half of the North American release. Here's 20 minutes of gameplay from that session, including stages from the first two worlds, a look at some of the enemies, allies and leaders, the game's Transform mechanic and more.
