Capcom is trying something new with Resident Evil Revelations 2, its new episodic title in gaming's best-known horror franchise. So we figured, why don't we try something new for covering it?
Enter the Let's Play. This popular format for viewing and discussing games allows us to share our immediate experience of playing it with the audience. For a weekly episodic game like Revelations 2, it also allows us to post some videos with impressions of each episode while holding on our proper, final review of the game for the last episode.
Polygon faithful with good memories may remember that we did have one previous attempt at a Let's Play-style series. However, my co-host Nick Robinson and I are committed to sticking with Revelations 2 to completion.
Assuming future episodes follow the same format as Episode 1, we'll be releasing four videos for each episode. Those videos will hit on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week, right up through the final episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 on the week of March 17. We're also planning a few bonus episodes to show off raid mode and the extra content that's included in the retail edition of the game.
As a side note, we ran into some minor technical issues with our recording on the first episode that led to a short delay. As such, this week's videos will hit today, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Episode 2's videos will begin immediately following that on Tuesday of next week.
