A 12-month subscription to Xbox Live normally costs $59.99, but a deal in the Microsoft Store can save you $20 and get you a year of Gold access for $39.99.
The deal, which will provide purchasers with a code or a card, runs through Feb. 28. There's a limit of three discounted subscriptions in your virtual shopping cart.
An Xbox Live Gold subscription comes with access to online features, discounts on games in the Xbox Store and, thanks to the Games With Gold program, free games every month, including BioShock Infinite and Rayman Legends in March.
For more on the service, be sure to read Polygon's chronicle of Xbox Live. That includes the story of its birth and the just-published story of the second generation of the service that powers two consoles and much more inside of Microsoft. You can listen to audiobook versions of both, too.
