Mortal Kombat X's story trailer introduces a bunch of new fighters

Mortal Kombat fans know that one of the core pillars of NetherRealm's fighting games is the single-player story campaign. Today, we get a taste of what's in store in Mortal Kombat X, which focuses on a new generation of fighters as they battle Mileena and her Outworld rebel army.

We've already seen one of those new generation fighters in action, Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. Now we're introduced to a couple of new Mortal Kombat kids: Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax; Takashi Takena, son of the blind swordsman Kenshi; and Kung Jin, a descendant of Kung Lao, who was confirmed for MKX last month. You can get a taste of their fighting styles in the above video.

The new story trailer for Mortal Kombat X also features a couple of other characters, like Mileena, Shinnok and Sindel, though it's not immediately clear who's going to be part of the playable roster.

Mortal Kombat X is coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
