PlayStation Plus free games for March may not be announced until ... well, March

Even though today is the last day of February it may be sometime next week before PlayStation Plus subscribers know which free games are being offered for their $50 annual subscription.

That's according to Fred Dutton, a manager for the PlayStation blog in Europe. "We're still not quite ready to make the announcement," he wrote yesterday afternoon. "It may well be next week at this stage."

PlayStation has already announced a special sale for PS4 titles with 10 percent discounts exclusive to PS Plus subscribers, but not the lineup of free games.

Normally, PlayStation Plus makes its free games available when the service updates on Tuesday in North America. The Feburary lineup of games was announced on the last Thursday of January.

Xbox Live already has announced the free titles that Games With Gold will deliver its subscribers in March. (Today is the last day subscribers can pick up Sniper Elite V2 for free.)
